Neighbourhood spiritual watch

Give parishioners a “neighbourhood spiritual watch” with responsibility to pray for a group of neighbours, survey them, invite them to events and speak to them on spiritual matters. Use a parish map and ask people involved to mark the location of their house on the map.
Become a Literacy Volunteer at your local TAFE college

Local TAFE colleges are always looking for members of the community to volunteer to assist students to improve literacy (international and local student).
TAFE runs part-time 6wk acredited courses.

Use your church website to help people read Luke

Have reading guides and introductions to Luke, section by section, on your church website. You can then direct people to help in how to read it, linking them back to your church through your website.

Door knock the houses requesting to clean graffiti on their property.

Halloween Handout

Halloween is not a ‘festival’ we want to endorse, but it falls on Reformation Day.
So we have some ‘treats’ ready along with a bookmark that explains the gospel through Reformation Day.
Postcards before Doorknocking

Distribute postcards before doorknocking and to give people an idea what you are visiting for. Perhaps a standard Connect09 postcard that could be adapted by each parish / ministry for local use.
