Get to know your area :Church Monopoly!

We used the game monopoly & used it to know our area! We changed the street names to ones surrounding us, the train stations into our largest ethnic groups (You could buy rest’s there!) For more info post a comment and I’ll email you.

To help inform and motivate people to be involved in ConnectO9 we are holding a series of ‘Afternoon Teas’ for two hours at the Rectory for all church members in groups of 8-10 adults and teenagers.
‘God Next Door’ - Simon Carey Holt

I found a really good book from Koorong Bookshop, written by an Australian for Australians and very practical in application.
“God Next Door” ‘Spirituality & Mission in the Neighbourhood “ by Simon Carey Holt, Acorn Press published in 2007.
It defines Neighbourliness beautifully p67 ff. Chapter 5 - A Theological Imperative a Call to Neighbourhood .
Neighbourhoods and Mission Disciplines of Engagement Part three page 91 is very telling.
On page 102-105 it talks about ,” An Exegetical walk around your neighbourhood ,” with 19 questions to ask yourself as you walk. Every Parish would find this most enlightening about their Parish.
Chapter 9 is headed “Pointing the Way to Jesus,” so empowering for everyone.
The book is a gem and every Parish Connect 09 should have at least have one copy to share around for practical Australian based connecting.
