Sydneyanglicans.net has opted to post a copy of the conditions agreed to by all members of the forums in regard to the content of their posts. It contains certain technical and legal requirements, as well as the general ethos of the forum. The team hopes this will encourage contributors to remember that this service is run by a Christian organisation that requires we do more than speak the truth, but speak the truth in love.

Fine print:
Sydneyanglicans.net requires forum contributors to register and post under their full names for reasons of accountability. As the publisher of the forums, Sydneyanglicans.net could be held to be legally liable for comments posted. We believe it is helpful to create an environment wherein contributors are held accountable for their comments, and requiring people to post under their real names ensures that this is the case. In the event that a forum member knowingly defames another person or infringes the general guidelines for posting listed below, Sydneyanglicans.net will take swift action to remove the post and deal appropriately with the offending member.

While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately banned for a period of two weeks, or permanently banned in the event of peristent infringements, with your service provider being informed in the most serious cases. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.

You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.

As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

1. When the material is considered to be blasphemous, offensive or in poor taste etc.

2. When the material is considered to be defamatory, libellous or otherwise legally actionable

3. When the material relates to a minor and the consent of a parent or guardian has not been granted

4. When the material is demonstrably inaccurate or based solely on rumour or hearsay.

5. When the material is determined by the CEO of Anglican Media to be detrimental to the Diocesan Mission.

‘Dead Horses’ Forum
The motivation for having a Dead Horses forum is not so much to stop people talking about a topic as the removing of threads that threaten to limit the healthy discussion your.sydneyanglicans.net hopes to promote. They might do this in a number of ways:

- they may contain so many posts that they are almost completely unreadable;

- they have slipped so far off topic that they become too general to be helpful;

- they have become polarised to the point that what little discussion continues is likely to be more abusive than informative; or

- they have become psuedo-blogs for a limited number of individuals, characterised by long, double and triple postings that do little to encourage conversation or interaction.

This isn’t an exhaustive list and sometimes it is just obvious that the thread that is being stretched out is just another exercise in flogging a ‘dead horse’. The editor is more than happy to receive requests from forum users to have a thread moved to the ‘Dead Horses’ forum. These can be made via the ‘report’ link attached to every post.

‘Dead Horse’ threads remain open for those who wish to flogging the proverbial but new posts will not appear in the ‘latest discussions’ blocks.

In summary, our intention is to prevent certain types of unhelpful behaviour rather than the discussion of any particular topic.

• Pray that we as believers will trust in the faithfulness of God and in His promises. Pray that as we step out in new evangelistic ventures we will know that God goes before us and with us, to work His saving purposes out in people’s lives.

• Give thanks for our growing children's ministries. Pray that God would inspire us and equip us to reach out to the many unchurched families that we now have connections with through these ministries.

• Pray for the upcoming Christmas events (Community Carols event, Christmas Services, Women's Night). Pray that we as Christians would be prayerfully inviting friends, family members and contacts to come to these events. Pray that at these events people would hear about our Lord Jesus and be drawn closer to Him.

• Pray for our Connect09 action team as they continue to meet. Pray for creativity, wisdom and God's leading in the plans and decisions they make about Connect09 issues in Sylvania.

• As Peter writes in his first letter, pray that we would live such good lives amongst the pagans that they would see our good deeds and glorify the Lord Jesus on the day he visits us. Pray that we would always be ready with answers when asked about the reasons for our hope. Pray that God would help us to answer people with gentleness and respect.

• Pray that we would make the necessary preparations for the integration and discipleship of those whom God in his mercy saves in the coming year and beyond.
