As (I think) the first person to post a prayer point in the Connect09 forum, can I ask for your prayers for those of us who are preparing the way.
I am probably going to be in the group (at my work parish) which is starting to do our research.  We have ideas about the nature of the parish, but we need to actually check the facts.  Just who does live in our parish, what languages do they speak, how can we best reach them?  All vitally important things to know.
Please pray for our planning group, and for all the other planning groups in all the other parishes, that we will work well together, that the data we need will be easily available and that once it is obtained, it will help us to reach our community.

• Pray that we as believers will trust in the faithfulness of God and in His promises. Pray that as we step out in new evangelistic ventures we will know that God goes before us and with us, to work His saving purposes out in people’s lives.

• Give thanks for our growing children's ministries. Pray that God would inspire us and equip us to reach out to the many unchurched families that we now have connections with through these ministries.

• Pray for the upcoming Christmas events (Community Carols event, Christmas Services, Women's Night). Pray that we as Christians would be prayerfully inviting friends, family members and contacts to come to these events. Pray that at these events people would hear about our Lord Jesus and be drawn closer to Him.

• Pray for our Connect09 action team as they continue to meet. Pray for creativity, wisdom and God's leading in the plans and decisions they make about Connect09 issues in Sylvania.

• As Peter writes in his first letter, pray that we would live such good lives amongst the pagans that they would see our good deeds and glorify the Lord Jesus on the day he visits us. Pray that we would always be ready with answers when asked about the reasons for our hope. Pray that God would help us to answer people with gentleness and respect.

• Pray that we would make the necessary preparations for the integration and discipleship of those whom God in his mercy saves in the coming year and beyond.
