Pray for Caringbah (Sydney’s South)
Population: approx. 21 281
Religious Affiliation:
Roman Catholic 31.8%, Anglican 27.7% and No Religion 12.2%.
Age: 18.4% of the population are children aged between 0-14 years,
12.2% are 15-24 years,
41.3% are 25-54 years and
28.0% are persons aged 55 years and over.
Languages: 86.3% of persons speak English. The most common languages other than English spoken at home are: Greek 1.7% and Italian 0.9%.
• Pray for the diverse age range of people in Caringbah in their particular life stage. Pray for the retirement villages, those in established homes in the older areas and for young families.
• Pray for those who work in local government. Pray that each member might know a believer or that they will connect with one this year.
• Pray for those who work in clerical & administrative occupations.
• Pray for the bus drivers in our city. Pray that the Lord may extend his mercy to them.
• Thank God for his Holy Spirit, which enables people to understand his Word and come to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. Pray that God will pour out his Spirit on the people of Caringbah.

Pray for Wollongong (Illawarra region)
Population: approx. 10 100
Religious Affiliation:
Roman Catholic 26.2%, No Religion 17.4% and Anglican 17.0%
Age: 7.7% of the population are children aged between 0-14 years,
21.6% are 15-24 years,
44.1% are 25-54 years and
26.7% are persons aged 55 years and over.
Languages: 85.9% of persons speak English. The most common languages other than English spoken at home are: Italian 2.8%, Mandarin 2.0% and Macedonian 2.0%
• Pray for effective research and preparation of strategies for contacting and connecting with the many unit/apartment dwellers (80.2% of dwellings!).
• Ask God to move each congregation member to select a personal approach from a suite of options for contacting their street, retirement village, apartment block or university college etc.
• Pray for wisdom for church leaders in reducing our busyness at church activities, so that we might become more like our master, Lord Jesus, who was not ashamed to be known as the "friend of sinners" (Luke 7:34) and delighted to spend time with them (Luke 15).
• Ask God to strengthen existing links to the community through English For Life teaching, Anglicare Bible study with the marginalised, playgroup, SRE and ministry to university students (especially from overseas).
• Pray for new initiatives to reach lost tribes such as the beach culture, the mentally ill and substance abusers, the city business workers.
• Ask that St Michael's might make the most of the 150th anniversary of the building being opened in 2009 to re-connect with former church attenders among the older generation.
• May God's Holy Spirit soften people's hearts to receive and read the Gospel of Luke or other Scriptures.

Pray for Sylvania (Sydney’s south)
Population: approx. 9619
Religious Affiliation:
Roman Catholic 27.8%, Anglican 25.2% and Eastern Orthodox 11.4%
Age: 16.4% of the population are children aged between 0-14 years,
11.2% are 15-24 years,
37.1% are 25-54 years and
35.2% are persons aged 55 years and over.
Languages: 74.9% of persons speak English. The most common languages other than English spoken at home are: Greek 6.7% and Arabic 2.8%.
• Pray that we as believers will trust in the faithfulness of God and in His promises. Pray that as we step out in new evangelistic ventures we will know that God goes before us and with us, to work His saving purposes out in people’s lives.
• Give thanks for our growing children's ministries. Pray that God would inspire us and equip us to reach out to the many unchurched families that we now have connections with through these ministries.
• Pray for the upcoming Christmas events (Community Carols event, Christmas Services, Women's Night). Pray that we as Christians would be prayerfully inviting friends, family members and contacts to come to these events. Pray that at these events people would hear about our Lord Jesus and be drawn closer to Him.
• Pray for our Connect09 action team as they continue to meet. Pray for creativity, wisdom and God's leading in the plans and decisions they make about Connect09 issues in Sylvania.
• As Peter writes in his first letter, pray that we would live such good lives amongst the pagans that they would see our good deeds and glorify the Lord Jesus on the day he visits us. Pray that we would always be ready with answers when asked about the reasons for our hope. Pray that God would help us to answer people with gentleness and respect.
• Pray that we would make the necessary preparations for the integration and discipleship of those whom God in his mercy saves in the coming year and beyond.

Pray for Dapto (Illawarra region)

Anglican 29.4%, Roman Catholic 28.5%, and No Religion 13.6%.
Age: 20.2% of the population are children aged between 0-14 years,
12.1% are 15-24 years,
39.1% are 25-54 years and
28.6% are persons aged 55 years and over.
Languages: 90.0% of persons speak English. The most common languages other than English spoken at home are: Macedonian 0.9% and Italian 0.8%.
• Seek God's blessing on the community and ask him to soften people’s hearts to hear the Word as it is witnessed to them.
• Ask God to use you to reach people for his kingdom.
• Pray for those residents who are not saved by God’s free gift of grace.
• Pray for the teachers in the many schools - that they may know and trust in Jesus and support the teaching of scripture in their schools.
• Pray that the residents who don’t speak english might not feel isolated from their community.
